FRIDAY, Sept. 1st is the first day to start donating to Sudie Tag’s North Texas Giving Day (NTGD) Fundraiser at: northtexasgivingday.org/Sudie.
Students can also create their own fundraising page through the site to start collecting donations. The House with the highest number of donations wins 250 House Points.
Last year, we raised over $70k. Let’s do even better and raise $100k this year to help cover the gap from the loss of our Title 1 funding.
1-2-3-4 ... We declare a PENNY WAR!
Dig through the car, check under the couch and empty those piggy banks!
It's time for students to help nickel and dime our way toward our North Texas Giving Day goal.
Each house will have a collection jar in outside the main office.
GAIN points by adding nickels, dimes, quarters, half-dollars, and silver dollars to your house jar.
LOWER the totals for the OTHER houses by adding pennies to their jars!
The House with the highest total at the end of September 21st wins 250 house points and a week of free dress!
ALL the coins collected go toward our North Texas Giving Day funds to support scholars' learning and enrichment throughout the year!
PARENTS - are you willing to volunteer to count coins on 9/22?
Middle School Locker Agreements were handed out to students during Advisory to bring home if they wanted a locker. The agreements are due back to their Advisory teacher tomorrow, Sep 1st. If they don't have the form and want a locker, they need to speak with their Advisory teacher.
Help Bring Teddy to Sudie
Hello Sudie Students, Parents, and Fellow Teammates!
My name is Teddy, and I am your SUPER SUDIE soon-to-be therapy dog! Sudie has raised about $200 dollars and our goal is $5000. Once we have raised the goal amount, I will begin therapy dog training at Dog Training Elite in Frisco! As soon I am trained, I will be able to be on campus!
I LOOK FORWARD TO MAKING YOU SMILE EVERYDAY!
Please help by donating to @Sudie-PTO (via Venmo) and add "for Therapy Dog" in notes :)
Heat Index Precautions
Sudie follows the following DISD official policy to protect our kids during extreme heat:
Heat Index of 105° or higher: No outside activity and encourages hydration.
Heat Index of 100°-104°: Only essential outdoor activities; water must be provided before and after activity.
Heat Index less than 100°: Usual outdoor activities are permissible for “healthy” children. Encourage hydration and provide water before and after activity.
Also, kids are released (at least) 5 minutes early to fill up their water bottles before the final bell.
The Read-a-Thon company updated their program/website over the past weekend. Due to glitchy site issues, the Read-a-Thon is being extended until Friday, Sep 8th in hopes that they'll fix all the bugs. Keep reading, keep trying!
Schedule the Cheer Team
The cheer squad would love to support your team! To request their presence at any Sudie game, please fill out this Google form. The cheer squad is looking to participate at 3+ Sudie events in the Fall and 3+ events in the Spring. GO LIONS!!
Cheer Birthday Bomb Fundraiser
The cheer team sold Birthday Bombs at auction last year and a few remain for purchase. This is a fun way to make your special student or staff member's birthday extra special and support Sudie Cheer!
For each birthday gram, the cheer team will decorate their locker (if they don't have a locker other festive arrangements will be made) or staff member's door/area for the selected date.
Six or more cheerleaders will greet the honoree and perform a birthday celebration cheer at their arrival and present the honoree with a birthday pin to wear all day long.
Date and timing of cheer (at drop off) and special details will be coordinated with purchaser.
Each birthday gram is $100. Limited quantity available.
Please contact Shona Bell at smgbell@gmail.com or 202-907-5522 to purchase.

Join the Recess Team - It's a blast!
Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up for recess duty!! It is looking good.
If every family took only one shift per year we would have all the spaces covered and then some. Please help to make recess happen for middle school.
Everyone benefits from the outdoor social time these kids will get!! Plus you get to check in on them once in the year. It is very interesting to see the world of middle school in action at recess. A great learning experience for all.
Contact Shona Bell @smgbell@gmail.com or 202-907-5522 with questions.
