This Week's Quick 2:

1) Admin Appreciation is this week! Prepare notes and any other small tokens to show them how much we appreciate all they do!

2) May 20 & 21ACP testing for Middle School students will take place next Monday and Tuesday. Be sure your student gets a good night's sleep and brings their fully charged laptop & charger (in addition to headphones for Spanish if they receive text-to-speech).

Drumroll please!! We are so excited for our Sudie House Spirit Week starting Monday, May 20th through our last day of school, Friday, May 24th

Each day will have a theme where students and staff can dress up to show their house spirit! Please review the graphic above to see what themes we have for the week! 

Join us for the Annual Sudie House Parade on the last day of school!

On the last day of school (May 24th) will be our Sudie House Parade! A time where parents bring their cars out on the Sudie field and decorate with their Sudie House Pride!! 

After all the cars are decorated, school will be dismissed, and the parade will begin! Please review the logistics below! Happy Spirit Week Sudie Family!

ACP Testing (Middle School)

Middle School students will take their ACPs on Monday, May 20th and Tuesday, May 21st. Please review the ACP testing graphic for information regarding next week. 

Be sure that students bring their fully charged laptops and laptop chargers. If they are taking Spanish I or II and receive text-to-speech, they MUST also bring headphones as we do not have enough to provide all students with one.

Admin Appreciation Week

Help us celebrate the best Administration team in DISD!!  

Sudie's Administration Appreciation is this week.  We will present a bin to Ms Ladipo and Ms. McKinney on Friday.  Please send in notes of appreciation or other small tokens of appreciation to add to their bins. 

End of Year Celebration

Did someone say LAZY RIVER? 

Come relax in the lazy river and celebrate on the slides as we close out another great year at Sudie TAG!  The PTA is hosting a private event on Saturday, June 1st from 6:30-8:30pm at the Frog Pond just for current Lions and their families.  Food and drinks will be provided, so please RSVP through the link below so we can plan accordingly!  Don't forget to bring sunscreen and towels!  Can't wait to see you all there!

Free Texas Rangers Tickets

The MLB's Commissioner’s Community Initiative Program donated 250 tickets to the Texas Rangers v. Arizona Diamondbacks game on Tuesday, May 28th, 7:00p at the Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX!

5th Grade Bridging

5th Grade Parents, 

You’re invited to join us for the very special occasion of the 5th Grade Bridging! This event marks a significant milestone in our students’ lives as they transition from elementary to middle school. The bridging event will take place on Friday, May 24th at 9:00am in the Sudie Auditorium.

The Bridging Ceremony will include a series of presentations and performances by our students, reflecting on their achievements and memorable moments from their time in elementary school. It will be a moment to celebrate their growth, both academically and personally, as they prepare for the exciting challenges of middle school. 

Each 5th grade student was provided with tickets this past Monday. Please ensure you present your tickets at the front entrance so that you can enter the bridging event. We hope to see you there to cheer on our 5th graders as they bridge to middle school!

8th Grade Elevation

We are thrilled to invite you to the 8th Grade Elevation for the Class of 2024! Please mark your calendars for Thursday, May 23rd at 6:30pm at Thomas Jefferson High School | 4001 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75229. 

As we commemorate this significant milestone in your students' lives, we ask you to join us in applauding their hard work and achievements. Your support and encouragement have been invaluable to their growth and success. 

Each 8th grade student was given four formal invitations on Monday, May 13th and can request more in the main office. You must present your invitation at the high school in order to enter the event. 

All 8th grade students must arrive no later than 6pm. Thank you for playing such an important role in their journey. We look forward to celebrating with you soon!

Chess National Championships

A Super Sudie Shout Out to Will Kemp who played in the USCF National Middle School Championship in Atlanta this last weekend! He played in a very competitive U1100 division and won 4 of his 7 matches. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! 

Elementary Chess Results

Congratulations to our Elementary Team! We couldn't be prouder of their effort!

🏆20 Sudie players played, and 18 Sudie players earned medals! 

🏆Sudie Chess once again earned the most total medals and the most GOLD medals of all schools! Since we went 5 rounds, only 10 gold medals in total were awarded, and Sudie won 4 of those 10!

Congratulations to the Sudie Track & Field participants who went to the Dallas ISD Pre-Athletics Youth Championship Track Meet!   Unfortunately, the meet was rescheduled for a 3rd time, so here are the dedicated students who were there to represent Sudie and compete for a school trophy:

Dismissal Changes

If you need to change your student's dismissal/after school transportation, please communicate your change to Ms. Diaz or Ms. Carballos by email, phone or Remind NO LATER than 3:30pm. 

This is to ensure that all students receive dismissal directions within an early enough time frame. Please DO NOT text your student dismissal changes as students are NOT allowed to use their cell phones during instructional hours 8:35am-3:55pm.
