Wow! What an amazing first day of school! We have greatly enjoyed welcoming all of our Lions back to school, and if the first day is any sign, the 2025-2026 school year is sure to be super at Sudie!
This Friday, we get to continue the first week's festivities with our House Sorting! Along with myself, our new Sudie Lions will get to find out their House. To support our students in showing their House pride, the PTA will be selling House swag after school on Friday.
Next week (August 18-22) we have a House Spirit Week. While all students are expected to follow our dress code, students will be able to wear shirts that show their House pride - below is the schedule:
Monday is Logra (Green)
Tuesday is Esempio (Blue)
Wednesday is Sankofa (Yellow)
Thursday is Duma (Black)
Friday is Uniform or Sudie Swag with Jeans
We will also be having our Student Code of Conduct and Expectations assemblies next week, so your student will know how to make every day a success at Sudie!
Finally, next Thursday, our PTA will be hosting an Activity Fair (more info below) via Zoom. Our extracurriculars are part of what makes Sudie special, and we encourage all students to find their passion and let their talents and gifts shine through clubs and activities!

Also, Parents and Students must sign TWO Technology Agreements for your student to be issued a Chromebook. The informational slide deck has a link to the Sudie TAG Technology Agreement. And DISD's Technology Agreement is linked at the end of the Sudie's.

We all want what's best for our school, and one of the most effective ways to stay involved, work and advocate to make that happen is by joining the PTA. Don’t forget! Kids can join the PTA, too. Student Activity Fair
Our Activity Fair will be held on Thursday, August 21st at 6:30 pm through Zoom (link coming soon). The link will also be sent out via Remind.
Whether your student is interested in sports, arts, or academic clubs, there is something for everyone. Please encourage your student to get involved.
Information on how to sign up will be covered during the Zoom presentation.
Sudie Running/Track & Field, Tennis, and Golf Clubs are seeking parent leaders. We have strong student interest, but no parent organizers yet. If you’re interested in learning more about the role, please contact sports@sudiepta.com.

Picture Day is on the horizon! Elementary will take their photos Tuesday, August 25th and Middle will take theirs on Thursday, August 28th! Students can wear best dress or Sudie uniform. These photos will be used for our Sudie yearbook and their student IDs. Order forms will be sent home with students today, August 13.
