I hope that the Labor Day Weekend allowed everyone an opportunity to recharge! As we know, short weeks often prove to be the busiest! Here is an idea of what our Lions have been up to lately:
Progress Reports: We have reached the halfway point of the first nine weeks, and we are hoping to keep the momentum going and ensure that the 2025-2026 school year sustains our legacy of Sudie success! All students were provided with their progress report on Tuesday and instructed to take these reports home. This is a great opportunity for students to have discussions with their families about their goals for the first nine-weeks and any actions that need to be taken to ensure they end up where they want to be by the end of the nine weeks.
North Texas Giving Day: Friday, August 29th, officially kicked off our 2025 North Texas Giving Day campaign! Running until September 18th, this event is the main fundraiser for our incredible PTA, and we are encouraging all Sudie families and community members to consider supporting and show their Lion Pride!
Coffee with the Principal: This Friday, we will host our first Coffee with the Principal of the 2025-2026 school year. This is an opportunity for our community to connect and learn about updates from Sudie staff members. There will also be time allotted for any questions that you may have that our staff could answer. We hope you are able to join us!
Looking ahead, next week we will have our first SBDM (5:30 pm) and PTA (6:30 pm) general meetings of the year. I hope you are able to join us so that you can provide input that will help us strengthen Sudie!

There’s No Place Like Sudie: Lions Leading with Brains, Heart and Courage
LION PRIDE is off to a roaring start! Thanks to generous early givers, we’ve already raised over $12,000 towards our $75,000 goal! Visit Sudie PTA Lion Pride 2025 to donate through September 18th!
We are SUDIE, we are ONE! Help us reach 100% participation by every Sudie family! We are tracking participation by grade level, so if you can list the names of your student(s) when you donate, we would appreciate it. There’s a ways to go, but 4th grade is currently in the lead to win a pizza party! View the Grade Level Participation tracker here.
We LOVE our Donors! Check out the Donor Appreciation graphic to see how PTA says “thank you” to our donors. Contributions from grandparents, relatives, and friends all count toward your family’s total!
Spread the WORD! Students can create their own personalized Fundraising Page with teacher assistance at school or by following the step-by-step instructions to be distributed this week via Remind/GroupMe. Please help your student share their Fundraising Page with family and friends who want to support our amazing school!
In compliance with the new Texas law (Senate Bill 12), all students participating in both in-school clubs and after-school clubs must have a completed permission form on file. Students without a signed form will not be allowed to take part in any extracurricular clubs or organizations.
The Form was sent home with students today, Wednesday, September 3rd. Please complete and return the signed form to the office by Friday, September 12th. Thank you for your cooperation!

PTA Membership Meeting + Game Night
Please join us in the auditorium for the first PTA meeting of the new school year! We will be highlighting Lions Pride, unveiling a brand new eNews name and talking all things Sudie PTA for the 25-26 school year!
While parents are attending the PTA meeting, Sudie Chess will host a concession stand and Game Night. Students are invited purchase pizza + snacks and play non-electronic games with other Sudie Lions in the cafeteria.
Sudie Supper at Mendocino Farms
Eat at Mendocino Farms after 2pm on Wednesday, September 24, and they will donate 30% of your purchase back to the Sudie PTA!

EXCITING NEWS! The PTA is updating the Enews (our electronic newsletter) graphics. Please vote on your favorite design here, and the "winner" will be announced at our first PTA meeting on Thursday, September 11.

Did you know that Reflections is one of the largest student arts programs in the country, with more than 200,000 students creating and sharing their talents every year? It’s your chance to let your creativity shine, express yourself, and tell your unique story!
This year, Sudie PTA is thrilled to take part in the National PTA Reflections Program – and we can’t wait to see what you create!

Free Dress Fridays
Free Dress Fridays are back! Starting Friday, September 5th!

Your Middle school student needs you to make recess a consistent part of their week. PLEASE sign up to cover middle school lunch one day per month.
We love our wonderful teachers and staff at Sudie! Please help us show our appreciation by volunteering to be a Secret Pal. Secret Pals are asked to drop a little gift ($20-$40) for their paired staff member during a designated week each month from September to May. Thank you!

Help Stock the Lounges!
Sudie TAG Community! It's time to support our school in a huge, yet simple way...stocking the lounges with snacks! Providing a daily snack/treat is the perfect way to remind our amazing staff/faculty how much we appreciate them!
Each grade level is being asked to provide snacks for all staff/faculty for a specific month (details in SUG)! The total number of staff/faculty is 44, and any extra snacks will be shared in the main lounge for our bus drivers.
