The first nine weeks of the school year are quickly coming to a close! I cannot believe that we have almost finished the first quarter of the year, and just like in a great football game, our Lions have gained momentum and gotten in sync. These factors, along with our Lions leading with brains, heart and courage are sure to lead us to success for the 2025-2026 school year!
Speaking of success, kudos to our phenomenal PTA and extreme gratitude to our amazing community for an incredible North Texas Giving Day! We were all blown away by the success of our efforts, and I cannot tell you how much your support means to every student and staff member at Sudie! Our connected community ensures that There’s No Place Like Sudie!
As the clock runs out on the first quarter, below are a few key plays to keep in mind:
4th Grade Perot Field Trip: What day is it? It’s October 3rd. That is when our 4th graders will embark on their first field trip as a Sudie Lion! I, for one, am looking forward to chaperoning and seeing the wonder of science light a spark in their eyes! Earlier that morning, we will also have our October Coffee with the Principal, so please join if you can and feel free to bring your favorite fall drink!
Testing: Our Algebra 1 students will be taking their common assessment next week (Sept. 29th-Oct. 3rd), and then throughout the weeks of October 6th and October 14th, our reading and math students will be completing their standards mastery checks. This is a great time to talk about your student's STAAR goals and ensure they have a plan to reach them.
While the quarter is coming to a close, it is still a perfect time to call a time-out and check in with your students on their grades for each course in order to create a new plan to finish up these last few weeks. Let’s ensure our Sudie Lions sustain the momentum and the legacy of success that they’ve created!
Thank you for your support of your student, our staff and the Sudie community!
There’s No Place Like Sudie: Lions Leading with Brains, Heart and Courage
We EXCEEDED our fundraising goal! We are deeply humbled by and grateful for the generous contributions of everyone who participated to make Sudie PTA’s 2025 Lion Pride campaign a success! Because of our community’s generosity, we exceeded our goal by almost $20,000 and are well-positioned to support an amazing 2025-2026 year for our school, students and teachers.
4th GRADE for the WIN on grade level participation! We are blown away by the enthusiasm of our newest Sudie Lions and their families! We can now officially announce that 4th grade is the winner of the grade level participation challenge and will receive a pizza party to celebrate. We are also proud to report that all other grades exceeded 60% grade level participation!
DUMA shines in the HOUSE COIN WARS! This year’s House Coin Wars raised over $2,300 to beat last year’s total raised by almost $800! HOUSE DUMA came out on top and will receive 200 House points and a donut party. All other Houses will be awarded 100 House points.

We love our wonderful teachers and staff at Sudie! Please help us show our appreciation by volunteering to be a Secret Pal. Secret Pals are asked to drop a little gift ($20-$40) for their paired staff member during a designated week each month from October to May. Do you have a busy schedule? Work all day? You can even have your child deliver it to the office at the beginning of school. Thank you!
Please help us welcome this year’s Grade Level Representatives (GLRs) and Homeroom Representatives (HRs) (4th and 5th grade only).
As a reminder, GLRs are parent volunteers coordinated through the PTA who work to enhance communication, provide feedback, and build community, and HRs help achieve these goals at a classroom level.
Thank you, GLRs and HRs!
