Welcome back from what I hope was a fabulous Fall Break and welcome to the second quarter of the 2025-2026 school year! Last week I was able to participate in our 8th grade capstone trip to Washington D.C.. This was an unforgettable experience because I got to see our students form relationships and memories that will last a lifetime! I am so grateful for how this Sudie community supports our students and this was especially seen by our dedicated staff and family chaperones and planning teams who put in months of hard work to make this trip possible!
The upcoming Sudie Night of Thrills is another example of how this Sudie community helps support each other to create memorable moments for our students! I can’t wait to see our community this Friday evening as they enjoy our Trunk or Treat (thank you Sudie cheer), or our Haunted Hallway (shoutout to House Council) and then settle in for a magnificent movie night under the stars! The fall festivities will begin at 5:00 pm on Friday evening. Then on Saturday our PTO is hosting OctoROARfest which is sure to be an amazing event!
Next week we will be conducting our Fall Family Conferences. Our campus-wide conference night will be Tuesday October 21st from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. If you are unavailable for conferences on Tuesday you can schedule a conference with your students teachers using our conference landing page: tinyurl.com/sudiefall25conf
At Sudie we believe in growing gifted leaders, one talent at a time and one of the ways we try to support this vision is by empowering your students to have a voice in their learning. As much as possible, we request that your student attend the conferences alongside you so that they may share what they have been learning in the classroom, what their goals are for each subject, and how we can all support them in reaching those goals. We’ve included some questions that you can ask your students about any of their classes or during our Fall Family conferences!

7th & 8th Graders: Are You Interested in Applying to Booker T. for Visual Arts?
The Sudie Visual Arts Guild is hosting a Zoom for 7th & 8th grade parents and students on Mon, 10/20, @ 6:45pm. *Zoom Link Coming Soon*
Current Booker T Visual Arts parents & students will discuss the audition process & share tips. Ms. Herrera, Sudie Art Teacher, will also be on the Zoom. Many begin preparing in 7th grade, so learn more now!
Popsicles & Popcorn with the Principal will be held during school on October 29 for those students who joined the PTA by September 12.
