Welcome back from what I hope was a wonderful winter break! We have loved getting to start off the second semester with our students yesterday and we know the 2025-2026 school year will continue to be a super year at Sudie! This semester we have many events to look forward to including our 8th grade activities, PTA programs such as TAG Talks and Around the World the Sudie Way, our Spring Musical, Capstone trips and much more!
Our students’ talents and gifts shined with our first semester assessment results with most subjects scoring at least 30% points higher than the district average. I am so proud of the hard work and dedication of our students and staff and I know these results are a sign of great things to come!
We are also elated to announce that Ms. Bowlin has been named a 2025 TI Foundation Innovation in STEM award recipient! This award is well deserved and we are so thankful that she chooses to invest her talents and gifts here at Sudie TAG!
As we welcome in the new year we also have some news to share about the 2026-2027 school year. Alongside other Dallas ISD magnet schools including Travis TAG, Longfellow Career Exploration Academy and Dallas Environmental Science Academy our school hours will be changed to 8:00 am to 3:20 pm. We understand that this shift will be an adjustment and we will share our updated bell schedule and transportation route schedule for next year as soon as they are finalized. We are excited that this new schedule will allow our students who play middle school sports to make it over to their home middle school in time for afternoon practice.

In a year that's been full of spectacular Northern Lights, experience your own Sudie Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) show. All Sudie middle school students are invited to dance the chilly night away to our DJ's top hits under the magical stars and awe inspiring colors.
Event date: Friday, January 23 Event time: 6-8:30 pm Location: The Northern Lights Dance Room (aka Gym) and the Chill Lounge (aka cafeteria)

Attention 7th grade Parents & Guardians: Please plan to join one of the meetings noted above to learn more about your student’s 8th grade capstone trip.
All three meetings are virtual, will have identical content, and should last 30 minutes or less. Please see the flyer for more information.
By popular demand, we are going back to the Sign Up Genius with sign up by week so you can sign up for a single day if that works better for your schedule.
This semester we will start on Monday, January 12 and ask for coverage for Mondays and Thursdays only. This will allow for an A day and a B day.
Our Spring Family Conferences are on the horizon! Our campus-wide conference night will be Tuesday, January 27th from 4:45 pm-8:00 pm. Please note that walk-in parent conferences will be available until 7:30p. If you are unavailable for conferences on Tuesday you can schedule a conference with your students teachers using our conference landing page: tinyurl.com/sudiespringconf26

Mark your calendar for Sudie TAG + Travis TAG's 3rd Annual TAG Talk! It's one you don't want to miss as we welcome best-selling author of The Disengaged Teen, Rebecca Winthrop.

This year we are also offering a book pre-sale for The Disengaged Teen, with a book signing and distribution at the event. Interabang Books will be participating in a give-back program with 15% of pre-sales donated to Sudie TAG and Travis TAG PTAs. PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY HERE.
What is a TAG Talk?
A TAG Talk is an in-person educational program focused on navigating life as parents of talented and gifted children sponsored by the PTA. TAG Talk is a yearly program, with each year's topic tackling a different obstacle affecting families of TAG students.
