We ended last week with a magical Sudie tradition! Our newest Lions were welcome into their House which will help guide them throughout the next 5 years at Sudie. Whether they show their Duma Pride, Logra Achievement, Sankofa Vision or set the example like those in the House of Esempio we are so excited to see all they become throughout their journey as Lions! I hope your family also had an opportunity to join our Activity fair and sign your student up for their Tier 1, 2 and 3 activities! At Sudie we are always so proud of what our students accomplish and who they become through their investment in extracurriculars.
All Sudie students have now completed their I-Ready assessments and have access to their scores via either printed reports that teachers have sent home or through I-Ready which can be accessed through clever. Please take time to have a discussion with your student about their results and their goal for the middle and end of the year assessments. Students may also complete lessons through I-Ready to help them practice key reading and math skills.
We are looking forward to a year filled with growth both in and out of the classroom! Let’s Go Lions!

Lion Pride (part of NTXGD) – PTA’s annual fundraising campaign and the largest contributor to the 2026/2027 operating budget – begins TOMORROW!
You can give any time starting THURSDAY, AUGUST 27 through THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 by visiting the Sudie PTA Lion Pride 2026site! Together, we can reach our Lion Pride goals of raising $100,000 and having 100% participation by every Sudie family. Funds raised above PTA’s $75,000 budget will go toward outfitting a new GT Lab at Sudie!
Dollar-for-dollar match for FIRST WEEK DONATIONS up to $10,000! An anonymous Sudie family has agreed to match all donations made during the first week of Lion Pride dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $10,000! Give between August 27 and September 3 to DOUBLE your impact.

⚽ Sudie Sports Update 🏀
Thank you to everyone who completed the sports interest survey that closed last Friday. We had over 140 students interested in playing sports for Sudie this year - including 2/3 of the new 4th grade class!
We're sending communications this week for all sports and activities to connect Sudie families and form teams. If you do not hear from us by EOD this Friday, August 28th, please reach out to sports@sudiepta.com.
⭐ Sudie Girls Circles & Guys Groups ⭐
Registration is now open for Sudie Girls Circles and Guys Groups! There are separate Elementary and Middle School groups. Meetings start mid-September, and space is limited. There are 5 meetings in the Fall Semester and 5 meetings in the Spring Semester. Early-bird pricing ends on 8/31, and financial aid is available.
We love our wonderful teachers and staff at Sudie! Please help us show our appreciation by volunteering to be a Secret Pal. Secret Pals are asked to drop a little gift ($15-$35) for their paired staff member during a designated week each month.
Do you have a busy schedule? Work all day? You can even have your child deliver it to the office at the beginning of school. Thank you!
All Sudie Girls are invited to grab their favorite Adult (Dad, Uncle, Granddad, etc.) to dance the night away at our inaugural Me and My Guy Dance! Any Sudie Dads attending may also bring daughters who are not current Sudie students.

Session 1 for 5th grade girls and below: 5:00-7:00 PM
Session 2 for 6th grade girls and up: 7:30-9:30 PM
Sudie Dads with a daughter in each bracket can choose one session or reach out to the organizers to plan.
Location: Meaders Hall at Cochran Chapel, 9027 Midway Rd
Ticket includes DJ dancing, dinner, snacks, and some activities.
This event benefits the current 8th-grade Class DC Trip.
