Whether you were touring our nation's capitol with our 8th grade class or perhaps enjoying some State Fair of Texas fun, we hope that everyone had a fabulous fall break! Fall break started on a high note for our 4th and 8th graders with their Learning Voyage field trips to the Arboretum and the Frontiers of Flight museum. Thank you to our parent chaperones who volunteered their time to make those trips especially meaningful.
The second quarter is starting off strong with our Middle School and Elementary School house meetings this week and our first High School Showcase Wednesday evening. We also hope that your family is able to join us (virtually) for our October General PTA meeting on Thursday evening. Additionally Friday evening our Sudie cheer team will be participating in the Hillcrest High School homecoming parade, we can’t wait to see them shine and to see some Sudie alums participate as well!
Next week we will be conducting Parent-Teacher conferences. Please sign up for a time to meet with your students' teachers so we can all partner together to see our students succeed. Finally our 8th grade class will be taking the PSAT test next Wednesday 10/21 in the morning. This exam helps prepare our students for success on college admissions tests and as they continue throughout their schooling careers can help them qualify for scholarships. We can’t wait to see our students' talents and gifts shine on these exams.
Thank you for your support of your student and Sudie TAG!

🇮🇹 An unforgettable adventure awaits your child in Italy! ✈️
Dear families,
We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming trip to Italy in Summer 2027, and your student is invited! This life-changing experience will help students build confidence, independence, and global perspective.
From Naples to Rome, bring history to life on an eight-day Italian adventure made for middle-schoolers. Students can explore Naples’ historic streets and underground passages, visit a mozzarella farm, and make their own pizza—then walk Pompeii’s ancient ruins with a local guide. In Rome, they’ll bike through Villa Borghese, see the Colosseum and Roman Forum, try a gladiator experience, and discover the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel.
We’re holding a one-time informational meeting to share everything you need to know—and spots on this trip are limited:
Why attend? - Learn how to save $150 with early enrollment. - Get first access to limited spots. - Learn about what we’ll see and do, academic opportunities, trip cost, and more.
In the meantime, please visit EF’s website to get answers to common parent questions. EF Tours is our trusted travel partner, and they have 60 years of experience helping students explore the world safely and affordably.
I hope to see you there and look forward to sharing how this trip can be a powerful and unforgettable chapter in your child’s life!
Please note that this optional EF tour is separate from and will not take the place of our Sudie Capstone trips, which happen every year, at every grade level, for every student and are a core part of the Sudie experience. Participation in this EF tour is entirely optional.
Best, Amy Garnica
