Donate and Set Up Your Fundraising Page

It is Time to Donate to Sudie PTA’s ONLY fundraiser!

Donate at: northtexasgivingday.org/sudie.  You can donate directly AND create a page for your student to raise money from friends, family, and the community.

This money funds extracurricular activities for your kids, including field trips, class parties, chess, robotics, UIL competitions, cheer, and many more.

It costs $5,619 per student to ensure that teachers and students have the resources they need to have a successful school year.  Help us support our students!

THANK YOU!

We exceeded our August goal and now have 379 PTA members.

It's not too late to join - our overall goal is 500 members this year so if you haven't signed up yet, please do. It doesn't take long and only costs $10 a person.

There are so many people who were members last year that haven't renewed yet. Is that you?

Simply visit https://williamstagpta.membershiptoolkit.com/ and login, scroll down to the "New Forms" section and, select "PTA Membership 2023-2024" to sign up.

Updated Uniform Policy

Help us be in compliance with uniforms.

Don't let them sway you with, "No one has ever said anything before." or "Everyone is wearing ___."

It may have been true in the past, but no more!

View the policy here. www.t.ly/d1ay_

Save the Date for Grandfriends Day - 11/17!

Bake Sale - Every Friday

The Class of 2024 will be hosting a bake sale in front of school every Friday through October 6th to raise money for their D.C. trip next year. Please have your students stop by after school for a yummy treat!

Cash or Venmo accepted.

Join the Recess Team - It's a blast!

Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up for recess duty!! It is looking good.

If every family took only one shift per year we would have all the spaces covered and then some. Please help to make recess happen for middle school.

Everyone benefits from the outdoor social time these kids will get!!  Plus you get to check in on them once in the year. It is very interesting to see the world of middle school in action at recess. A great learning experience for all.

Help Stock the Teacher Lounges

Do you want to do a special treat for the staff this year? Are you that family that drops off 3 dozen donuts one random weekday just because? Everyone loves it when you do!

Please consider signing up to stock the lounge with treats over a week or bring in a treat or two (like donuts or bagels) for all to enjoy that day!

Wherever works for you. We'd love to have something brought in each week--anything works.

Girls Healing Circles

The mission of the Girls Healing Circles is to inform and inspire 4th-6th grade girls so they grow up to be self-confident and self-loving young ladies who appreciate their bodies, know how to process emotions in a healthy way, and look to other girls as sisters rather than as competition.

• 5 Healing Circles in the fall semester

• 5 Healing Circles in the spring semester

• Circles will be 90 minutes long on select Fridays after school, beginning 9/15

• Neuroacoustic Sound Therapy will be incorporated by listening at home to specialized soundtracks designed to improve sleep, emotional resilience, and anxiety.

• Circles are led by a Sudie mom who is also a Neuroacoustic Sound Therapist and Emotion Release Practitioner

Cheer Birthday Bomb Fundraiser

The cheer team sold Birthday Bombs at auction last year and a few remain for purchase.  This is a fun way to make your special student or staff member's birthday extra special and support Sudie Cheer!

For each birthday gram, the cheer team will decorate their locker (if they don't have a locker other festive arrangements will be made) or staff member's door/area for the selected date.

Six or more cheerleaders will greet the honoree and perform a birthday celebration cheer at their arrival and present the honoree with a birthday pin to wear all day long.

Date and timing of cheer (at drop off) and special details will be coordinated with purchaser.

Each birthday gram is $100. Limited quantity available.

Please contact Shona Bell at smgbell@gmail.com or 202-907-5522 to purchase.

Schedule the Cheer Team

The cheer squad would love to support your team!  To request their presence at any Sudie game, please fill out this Google form. The cheer squad is looking to participate at 3+ Sudie events in the Fall and 3+ events in the Spring.  GO LIONS!!

Heat Index Precautions

Sudie follows the following DISD official policy to protect our kids during extreme heat:

  • Heat Index of 105° or higher: No outside activity and encourages hydration.
  • Heat Index of 100°-104°: Only essential outdoor activities; water must be provided before and after activity.
  • Heat Index less than 100°: Usual outdoor activities are permissible for “healthy” children. Encourage hydration and provide water before and after activity.

Also, kids are released (at least) 5 minutes early to fill up their water bottles before the final bell.

To determine current heat index, go to the National Weather Service at Heat Index Forecast by Zip Code
