Public School Funding - Make Your Voice Heard
Texas PTA is proud to continue building upon our long-standing legacy of advocating to make every child’s potential a reality within the following pillars: Supporting Student Success, Health and Safety, Meaningful Assessment and Accountability, and Strengthening Public Schools.
On October 9th a special session at the Texas capital will begin focusing on public education, including school vouchers and public school funding.
Our Texas State Representatives need to hear from parents with school aged children.
What is SBDM (Site-Based Decision Making)? We are a committee of staff, parents and students who work with the principal to set goals and implement strategies to improve our school community.
Various subcommittees focus on particular areas of need. A new subcommittee is being formed to evaluate current and future curriculum to better support teacher and student needs. This will be comprised of parents and teachers from middle school and elementary grades.
Are we STILL talking about Membership? YES, WE ARE!
We are looking for 70 more people to sign up to be official PTA members to help us hit the 500 member goal. Did you only sign up one person in your family? Consider adding your spouse/co-parent, a grandparent, or purchase a family membership and include your kids.
Every person counts towards our goal. Log in to the NEWLY UPDATED website to join:
Nominate someone for September's Volunteer of the Month
We've only received a handful of nominations and we KNOW so many parents are volunteering. Step up and do something kind for a parent: Help the Sudie PTA express our gratitude by nominating someone to be recognized as September's Volunteer of the Month.
The PTA Executive Board will review the nominees and select one person to be recognized at our next in person meeting on October 19.
Note that Sudie PTA Exec Board members are not eligible. Complete this Google Form with your nomination!
